The hotel has extremely comfy beds and offers a safe, cable channels, and a work desk. the bathroom is fairly clean. the breakfast is fantastic. the location is stunning, in a shopping area close to the lake, bird sanctuary, bars, restaurants. It's only a 10-minute walk to Nimez Lagoon.

The staff were fantastic, the hotel was good, nice view. The reception, Natalia, was extremely helpful in arranging taxis, excursions and next hotels. It made our stay much more comfortable.
The food was not very good at the hotel, especially the dinners. Also, for some reason, the hotel added additional charges of 12USD, claiming this was taxes. However the final bill did not show this amount as a tax, but rather as the room rate. Thus, not sure if the tax amount was a legitimate charge.

The hotel is beautiful and feels like an estancia or ranch. It is on Lake Argentina and has vistas of the snow-capped mountains across the lake. The town is ringed by mountains. The people and service at the hotel is extremely attentive and helpful. Breakfast and box lunches were delicious.
As others have suggested, the ride to the hotel goes through an unsightly dump, but that is a minor price to pay.

Upon arriving at the hotel we were offered a glass of wine or champagne and escorted to the living room overlooking the lake as the staff took care of our bags. So welcoming and hospitable. The staff is exceptional. The location is quiet and beautiful. The architecture is appealing.
Nothing. We will go the Las Dunas again when we return to El Calafate.

This hotel is a hidden gem nestled on the shores of Lago Argentino. The view from the rooms is absolutely breathtaking, with the lake spreading out before you as far as the eye can see. Waking up to such a majestic sight was a true delight. The rooms themselves were clean and comfortable, with beds that provided a restful night's sleep. The staff were friendly and attentive, going out of their way to ensure our needs were met. The breakfast offered a variety of delicious options to start the day off right.

Location is a great view. Pleople are very nice and try do the best to you fell very confortable. The hotel itself is cosy and very well decorated.
It is a little away from the center of the city, but it is not a problem once the taxi price is cheap.

Relaxing hotel, superfriendly and patient staff, incredible location on the lakeshore. Outstanding food in the restaurant, incredible breakfast with meat and cereals etc etc, as example. Large and tidy room with comfortable beds as expected. Location so close to El Calafate and the restaurants and the supermarket downtown.

Las Dunas was amazing. Who cares if it was 5mins drive from town it simply doesnt mater. A cheap taxi or a free transfer and you're there. Not that you'd leave anyway with the best value for money and tastiest food in town at the hotels restaurant. The hotel itself is beautifully located, with an amazing view. The service is outstanding with a focus on the small things that make a guests stay a good one.

The staff were very helpful at the hotel & very nice. The view from the room and the lobby/sitting area is fantastic as it looks across the lake to the mountains - this was the good part about the location. They have a resident fox that they feed by the seating area outside and they also have a telescope in the sitting area. Breakfast was the usual continental breakfast which was good. Also the hotel is not walking distance from town and the road to the hotel is under construction so not paved but they do have a shuttle and taxis are also US$5 each way so cheap...
The rooms were 'ok'. They were a bit small and didn't smell good (strong flower odor which seemed to be trying to disguise a sewage smell) but they were clean. Also I could hear the people in the room next door drying their hair in the morning so the walls are very thin. From their floor map it appeared they had 3 rooms that I guess were suites or at least double the size. I did not see them but would recommend you book one if you are spending more than a couple of nights here and are planning to spend time at the hotel.
